Vision
The vision of the IES is to advance global prosperity by fostering technological innovation, enabling members’ careers and promoting community worldwide. The IES promotes the engineering process of creating, developing, integrating, sharing, and applying knowledge about electro- and information technologies and sciences to benefit humanity and the profession.
Mission
The purpose of the Industrial Electronics Society Chapter is to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity.
About Us
IEEE Industrial Electronics Society Chapter Hyderabad is a vibrant group with members from both industry and academia, with the sole mission of encompassing a diverse range of technical activities devoted to the application of electronics and electrical sciences for the enhancement of industrial and manufacturing processes. The Field of Interest of the IES shall be confined to the theory and applications of electronics, controls, communications, instrumentation, and computational intelligence to industrial manufacturing systems and processes. The technical activities of the chapter address the latest developments in intelligent and computer control systems, robotics, factory communications and automation, flexible manufacturing, data acquisition and signal processing, vision systems, and power electronics. Many of the outcomes are being utilized for societal benefits. The primary role of Industrial Electronics society chapter is to initiate a discussion for the needs and address the challenges in different areas of Industrial Electronics, in order to meet the requirements of the emerging technologies of the 21st century
Industrial Electronics systems are the centerpiece of all industrial systems, with common applications in, but not limited to, robotics, motion control, industrial automation, electrical, hybrid electrical vehicles, or unmanned vehicles. The Industrial Electronics technologies assert themselves not only in the power electronics, motor drive, microcontroller, or signal conditioning aspects of such systems but also in the sensing, monitoring, diagnostic, control, and communication processes involved with such systems and many other industrial practices. The field has certainly moved far beyond traditional electronics, which used to be the final product at one time and has been the driving force towards the larger scale industrial systems with more recent extensions in mechatronics and cyber physical systems. These emerging technologies of the 21st century bring along the need for Industrial Electronics engineers who have knowledge and expertise in a plethora of technical areas mentioned earlier.
History
The Chapter was founded in 2021 by Mr. Madhav Negi. Mr. Madhav Negi chaired the chapter from 2021-2023. The present chair Dr. Tripura Pidikiti is steering the chapter from July 2023 onwards.
Activities
IEEE IES chapter Hyderabad Section has organized 4 events this year. We have organized technical talks, webinars with experts from premier academic institutions and Industry such as Intel, CEER, Mercedes. Recently, we are planning to organize a flagship event titled “A S Rao Memorial Lectures”. We propose to take forward our experiential learning to organize innovative programs that provide opportunities for all classes of our members in 2023.
