IEEE Life Members Affinity Group (LMAG) is a local unit of an IEEE Section/Council, constituted by IEEE members who have obtained Life Member status.

Objectives

With a good number of active eminent IEEE Life Fellow, Life Senior and Life Members at the IEEE Hyderabad Section deeply entrenched in various major technical societies, we would invite them as guiding force for all of our section activities viz. conferences, workshops, IEEE standards development activities, while also serving as a mentor for the student branches and chapters. The key mission of the group would be providing a common platform for Life Members to stay involved, engaged and advance the overall interests of the IEEE and Hyderabad section.

To promote Image Processing, Remote Sensing, Power and Energy Systems and related technologies.

List of activities of the LMAG chapter:

Organize technical lectures/webinars by eminent Life Members in niche areas and interdisciplinary areas such as Remote Sensing, Power and Energy, Control Systems, Healthcare and Medical Image Processing, Image Processing, Smart Cities, Machine learning for Cardio and Cancer analysis, Computer Vision, etc., combinedly with various society chapters of the section.

Create an active resource pool for identifying and delivering reviewers, resource persons, session chairs for the activities organized by the section and the sub-sections. Assist the local sections by being a part of the Technical Committee for conferences and workshops.

Create volunteering opportunities for various Life Members for “Skill Development Program” for students in local engineering institutions.

Technical lectures and workshops by the Life Members on cutting edge technologies targeted towards various member grades.

Dedicated support for new section-wide initiative spread across all chapters.

Actively champion the higher-grade elevation amongst the members of the section by helping them understand the benefits and opportunities that IEEE has to offer.

Student Mentoring:

Student Mentoring Program, wherein the Life Members will serve as advisors and guides for undergraduate and postgraduate students of local colleges/universities

Guidenace/advice to Ph D students:

Draw the expertise from LMAG members to provide guidance/advice to Ph. D students in areas such as Remote Sensing, Image Processing, Power and Energy, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Control Systems, etc.,

Research projects:

Plan the research projects for developing healthcare needs for rural primary centers.
